WHAT WE CERTIFY IN

ASBESTOS

Removing Asbestos Roofing

A naturally occurring fibrous silicate mineral.

It consists of mostly Magnesium, Silicates, and Iron.

LEAD BASED PAINT

Inspecting a Prefabricated Wall

Any paint or surface that contains lead equal to or in excess of 1.0 milligram per square centimeter or more than 0.5% by weight.

SILICA

Bridge Contruction

Silica is the common name for the chemical compound silicon dioxide. This compound is made up of one silicon atom bonded to two oxygen atoms and represented by the chemical formula 𝑆𝑖𝑂2.

CONFINED SPACE

Construction Components

Limited or restricted means for entry or exit and is not designed for continuous occupancy. Confined spaces include, but are not limited to, tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, ductwork, pipelines, etc.

Heat Stress

Chef Cooking in Kitchen

The program aims to increase awareness of heat hazards, provide the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to heat-related illnesses, and implement preventative measures to ensure worker safety.

Trenching and Shoring

Digging at Construction Site

Equips workers and designated "competent persons" with the essential knowledge to prevent cave-ins by properly classifying soil types, selecting and installing appropriate protective systems like sloping or shielding, and adhering to strict safe work practices for excavation.

WHO MUST BE CERTIFIED?

Regulatory compliance and worker safety require that any individual performing tasks such as scraping, sanding, demolition, or handling materials like insulation or piping must be currently certified for the specific hazards they may encounter. Before work begins, a hazard assessment must determine if the task involves potential exposure to asbestos, lead-based paint, respirable silica, heat stress, or will occur within a permit-required confined space. Work cannot proceed without the required training, certified personnel, and appropriate controls in place.
